That's why you're invited to join our Community Flohmarkt on Saturday, June 30th! Come to shop, sell your stuff, support a great cause, drink cocktails, watch the World Cup, and listen to live music right here in the betahaus parking lot! We're inviting everyone we know, and all proceeds from stand bookings go to support Plan A and their plastic waste initiative*. Of course, you get to keep the proceeds from anything you sell!
After 10 years at Moritzplatz, we're moving to a new location this autumn and we've got lots of great furniture looking for a new home. If you've got a favorite lamp on the 2nd Floor or an old armchair you'd love to have, this is your chance to grab it!
It's a community thing! Not only are we selling our own stuff, but you can BYOS (Book Your Own Stand) to sell off any clothes, appliances, or other cool things you might have lying around. Just head over to our Eventbrite page, choose a stand that fits your stuff (1mx1m, 2mx2m, or 3mx3m), and spend the day outside with us. Prices range from 6€-13€. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN TABLE!
However, this Flohmarkt is not only about shopping. We've also prepared lots of exciting smaller events throughout the day. You can grab a beer or a snack from the betahaus Café and Plan A making some of their favorite cocktails all day.You can also join the clothes building workshop led by fashion designer Jasmine Febbraro, who will teach you how to create an entirely new piece from your stained T-Shirts and ripped Jack Jones. Drop in and do your worst!
Later in the evening, we'll also have live music and a Public Viewing of World Cup match.
Plan A is the first fundraising and action platform in the fight against climate change. This July, they'll be tackling plastic waste and recycling of plastic materials, a mission we all have a play in. To help combat the issue, Plan A has partnered with Sagar Mitra Abiyan – The Friends of the Ocean Project – an Indian organization that encourages kids to bring packaging to school that will then be sold to recyclers. Sagar Mitra Abiyan has already reached 134,000 children and aims to reach 2 million kids by the end of the year. Your tabling fee + donations will go to support their continued efforts to educate children and keep trash out of the oceans.
